Prayer of Adoration
We give thanks to you, God our Father, for mercy that reaches out, for patience that waits our returning, for your love that is ever ready to welcome sinners. We praise you that in Jesus Christ
you came to us with forgiveness, and that, by your Holy Spirit, you move us to repent and receive your love. Though we are sinners, you are faithful and worthy of all praise. We praise you, great God, in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer once wrote that “He who is alone with his sin is utterly alone.” I know that one of the scariest things to do is to talk about the shameful things that we’ve done. But, if we don’t talk about them, we end up isolating ourselves and cutting off any paths to healing.
Prayer of Confession
Let us confess our sins together.
Forgiving God, we confess how we have rebelled against you. We have allowed doubts and fears to hold us back from the freedom to which you have called us in Christ Jesus our Lord. We have been quick to blame others for our weakness and slow to accept responsibility for ourselves.
Forgive us, and grant us your peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The peace of the Lord be with you always!

Offering Ourselves And Our Gifts
The offering is a way for Christians to support the mission and ministry of the Church. Christians offer a sacrificial portion of their resources–time, gifts/skills and possessions–as an act of faith and gratitude in response to God’s grace.
Let’s read this verse from the Bible. It’s found in 2 Corinthians chapter 8. Here’s what it says:
2 Corinthians 8:9 – “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor so that you, through his poverty, might become rich.”
In the verse we just read, we see Jesus leaving behind the riches of heaven and becoming poor for our sake.
From heaven to a stable. From angels to the carpentry shop. From royalty, to a cross.
Jesus gave his life for you and for me. Jesus left his place of prominence, privilege and wealth for people like you and me.
What an amazing picture of grace and generosity.
I think one of the ways we can follow Jesus in the area of our own generosity. Because Jesus has been so generous towards us, we can be generous towards others. The offering time at church is a great time to put that into practice!

We praise and thank you, O Lord,
We are grateful for your gifts and mindful of the communion of your saints, we offer to you our prayers for all people.
God of compassion, we remember before you
the poor and the afflicted, the sick and the dying,
prisoners and all who are lonely, the victims of war, injustice, and inhumanity.
O Lord of providence holding the destiny of the nations in your hand,
we pray for our country. Inspire the hearts and minds of our leaders
that they, together with all our nation, may first seek your kingdom and righteousness
so that order, liberty, and peace may dwell with your people.
We pray for a portion of the schools that serve the families in our community for the teachers, administrators and students who attend :

O God the great community planner, we pray for Cypress and all the surrounding area.
Would you bless Cypress and the people who live here; as we seek to limit the spread of the coronavirus would you aid us in loving our neighbors well and care for those who are most vulnerable. We pray your name would be glorified widely in this community that every man, woman and child might have the opportunity to know you. To this end we pray for divine opportunities to meet with neighbors and others in our community.
O God the Creator, we pray for all nations and peoples.
Take away the mistrust and lack of understanding that divide your creatures;
increase in us the recognition that we are all your children.
We pray for the people Rwanda and for the many Single Mothers in Rwanda who are raising children by themselves. We pray for them as many have been abused and are viewed negatively and are unable to marry again in their culture.
O Savior God, look upon your church in its struggle upon the earth. Have mercy on its weakness,
bring to an end its unhappy divisions, and scatter its fears.
Look also upon the ministry of your church. Increase its courage, strengthen its faith,
and inspire its witness to all people, even to the ends of the earth. We pray this especially for our brothers and sisters at
